Ten years later, he may just be the coolest teacher alive, too.

The Union High School teacher surprised his students with Paul Rudd, the magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 2021, during a field trip to the NJ Hall of Fame on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Ferroni works closely with the NJ Hall of Fame, having interviewed inductees, such as Danny DeVito. While organizing the field trip, one of the officials mentioned that Rudd was going to be there that day.

"We then kind of said it would be fun to surprise some students who were thinking they were getting a tour of the museum," Ferroni said on a call with Daily Voice.

In a testament to how well Ferroni knows his students, the teacher made sure the group participating in the field trip was comprised of Marvel fans, you know, because of Rudd's iconic role in "Ant-Man," and all.

Well, Ferroni pulled it off without a hitch.

While the students were getting their tour of the NJ Hall of Fame at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, they spotted Rudd, a Passaic native, filming his acceptance remarks for the upcoming 16th Annual New Jersey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (which airs in November).

"They literally freaked out when they saw him," Ferroni said. "I was really cool, he was really sweet and really kind."

In an Instagram reel, the district said students also met Giants legends such as Phil Simms and Bart Oates.

Rudd is most well-known for his roles in "Ant-Man," "I Love You, Man," "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," and more.

This year's ceremony will be aired beginning Nov. 13 on Fox 5 My9 and social media. It will also include Warren Littlefield, Kevin Smith and Meryl Streep in the "Performing Arts & Entertainment" category.

The news of Rudd's spotting was shared by NJParenting.com, which is a proud media sponsor of the New Jersey Hall of Fame.
